By introducing the new MA-8000H Horizontal Machining Center to the market, Okuma claims to be able to optimally meet business requirements for automated manufacturing solutions for large parts.

The particularly powerful model of the MA-H series offers customers a number of advantages: the production capacity of large parts has been significantly increased and productivity improved thanks to increased automation options. In addition, energy consumption can be automatically and permanently reduced drastically by using special features.

The dimensions and performance of the new MA-8000H have been significantly increased compared to the previous model, so its handling of very large and heavy parts is even better: The machine can work with a pallet size of 800 x 800 mm with an axis stroke of 1,400 x 1,200 x 1,350 mm and a load capacity of up to 3,000 kg. Extremely durable and powerful spindles ensure particularly high machine availability.

Increased productivity through uninterrupted operation

The MA-8000H can be equipped with several additional pneumatic and hydraulic connections through the vanes, optimally utilizing the specific requirements for unmanned operation. For example, this enables automated loading and unloading processes during machining time. The machine has also been designed in such a way that even a very large volume of chips can be removed reliably, thus ensuring maximum utilization of the machine’s capacity. The in-house developed “Sludgeless Tank” option also prevents the accumulation of small chip residues in the coolant tank, considerably reducing the effort required for its cleaning. The Okuma OSP-P300MA integrated control system also makes it very easy to use and can be supplemented with various control technology applications at the customer’s request. The configuration and maintenance of the new machining center have also been considerably simplified thanks to a particularly user-friendly machine design.

Reduced environmental impact with maximum precision

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to significantly reduce their CO2 emissions, in particular in the field of the production of semiconductors, renewable energies or during the manufacture of electric vehicles. Okuma meets this requirement perfectly with the new MA-8000H thanks to various energy-saving features: The proven thermo-friendly concept guarantees maximum dimensional stability and precision even during long-term operation. The integrated “ECO Suite plus” provides an innovative energy saving system that allows the user to monitor and adjust energy consumption and CO2 real-time broadcasts. The machine automatically reduces its power consumption during periods of inactivity while maintaining stable accuracies.

Delivery of the MA-8000H will begin in Europe in July, with pre-orders being accepted now.
