New lithium battery technology could power this ETF

Advances in lithium batteries will be a boon to the electric vehicle market. With the trend to put more electric vehicles (EVs) on the road, a research team in Germany may have developed groundbreaking technology.
âFor electric planes to really take off and for electric cars to travel much longer distances between charges, we’re going to need batteries that hold a lot more energy without getting too heavy,â a New Atlas article said. âA team in Germany has now demonstrated a new lithium metal battery with a density well beyond the significant benchmark of 500 Wh / kg and the ability to maintain performance over hundreds of cycles. “
German researchers are working to improve efficiency. One of the hurdles is trying to remove a key bottleneck that is preventing lithium battery technology from achieving its full charging potential.
