Teton Simulation appoints Doug Kenik as new CEO
3D printing simulation software company Teton simulation announced Doug Kenik as its new CEO, with Mike Kmetz becoming Chairman of the Board.
Kenik, who is promoted to Vice President of Product, and Kmetz, who co-founded Teton Simulation in 2016, will take up their new roles immediately.
Under Kmetz’s leadership, Teton Simulation went through several early funding rounds, launched its SmartSlice platform for Cura in fall 2020, and formed partnerships with Ultimaker and “ other key OEMs. ” As the company now seeks to accelerate adoption of its SmartSlice technology, it has decided to install Kenik as CEO and Kmetz as a board member.
Kenik has extensive experience with software vendors operating in the areas of advanced materials and manufacturing processes, having been a researcher and application engineer at Firehole Composites, which was acquired by Autodesk in 2013. Along with Autodesk, Kenik is switched to product management for advanced materials, helping market Autodesk’s generative design solution as a leading product manager. As Vice President of Products for Teton Simulation, he also played a pivotal role in bringing SmartSlice to market last year.
