Burglars hit five houses, steal jewelry and money of Rs 21L | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: Burglars broke into five houses in Khulsumpura on Saturday night and escaped with 45 tola of gold and 21 lakh of rupees.
According to Khulsumpura Inspector P Shankar, burglars broke into the house of Mr. Srinivas, owner of a private printing plant at Venkateswara Nagar in Khulsumpura. He alleged that unknown persons entered the house through the back door, breaking the latch and stealing 36 tola d’or and 16 lakh of rupees.
“The gold belonged to Srinivas’ mother, who died eight months ago. The family recently withdrew money to organize a girl’s wedding, ”the inspector said.
The incident took place on the ground floor of the three-story building. After hitting Mr. Srinivas’ house, the violators broke into the house of his tenant, P. Srinivas, located on the first floor and stole 10 tola of gold and 5 lakh of rupees. P Srinivas, from Bidar, sells refurbished mixers, grinders and pressure cookers. “The offenders also broke into three other houses nearby. In two houses there was no loss of property and in the last house half of the gold and 15,000 rupees were stolen, ”the inspector said.
Based on the victims’ complaint, the police registered cases under Articles 457 and 380 of the IPC. Police were checking CCTV camera footage near the crime scene to identify the accused.
