LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–concrete world, Informa Markets’ premier exhibition serving the thriving construction and masonry industries, concluded the 47and annual event held last week – Expo, January 18-20; Education, January 17-20 – at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Gathering near 37,000 registered professionals, the constant foot traffic in the exhibition halls, the high engagement with the comprehensive educational offerings and the general vibrancy exuded by attendees underscore the industry’s critical need for in-person connection.

World of Concrete has taken over 632,000 NSF of the vast and newly expanded LVCC, housing more than 1,100 industry-leading suppliers in the exhibition hall, including just over 150 first-time exhibitors, offering attendees a wide range of brands to explore, from the most sought-after global companies to niche SMEs covering a variety of applications.

“The level of engagement from companies of all sizes and across all industry sectors was very encouraging, particularly after the past two difficult years, and indicates the revival of the trade show industry and the continued growth of the sectors construction and masonry,” remarked Jackie. James, Group Director, World of Concrete. “We are delighted with the positive feedback we have received from our community, buyers and suppliers, and we look forward to seeing a host of new business partnerships and industry innovations resulting from this week’s event.”

In addition to a robust exhibit floor, registered attendees had the rare opportunity to engage with world-class education made available at the unmissable event. World of Concrete’s coveted educational programs serve as an incubator for the sharing of knowledge and technical know-how, helping the industry overcome challenges and exploit new opportunities for growth. With over 11,000 expert-led sessions, this year’s highly curated education explored a balance between technical and future-oriented topics, ranging from 3D printing in concrete construction, women in construction, waterproofing: the next generation of solutions, and much more.

James continued, “Year after year, industry professionals flock to World of Concrete for its highly valued education and unique opportunity to earn technical certifications to help professionals navigate this complex industry. It was no different; we were delighted to see the meeting rooms packed with engaged attendees exchanging ideas with their peers – it’s admirable to see this industry’s continued ambition to grow and share ideas. »

Not only does the industry come together at the annual World of Concrete event to make deals and educate each other, but also to view and demonstrate the most advanced products available on the market and see the latest developments in the industry that are laying the groundwork for the year to come. Event 2022 trends include, but are not limited to:

  • Greater productivity on the jobsite, with new battery systems that deliver more power to hand tools used to perform demanding concrete tasks, such as drilling, cutting and demolition;

  • Introducing equipment that automates concrete construction activities, including 3D printing, rebar tying, and overhead hole drilling;

  • Introducing new materials that increase contractor productivity while ensuring long-lasting repairs;

  • Simplified business data management systems that allow contractors to narrow the critical path of a project;

  • And product and equipment updates that reduce a project’s carbon footprint and increase contractor productivity.

Back for the 17thand consecutive year, the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program held its silent and live auctions, generating a all-time high over $1,740,000. The donations came from the live auction and online contributions, marking a historic moment in the rich history of the program at World of Concrete, designed to give students entering the concrete workforce industry a experience at the start of their career. World of Concrete is proud to partner with the CIM program, a business program developed specifically for the concrete industry to provide students with a four-year bachelor of science degree in concrete industry management.

New this year and central to World of Concrete’s core values, expo organizers have formalized the event’s commitment to sustainability in conjunction with renewable energy partner/sponsor HILTI. The program was intentionally executed with three goals: to inspire sustainability, environmental responsibility and social responsibility – each commitment supporting the event’s commitment to shaping the concrete industry for a sustainable future. Thanks to HILTI’s renewable electricity sponsorship, World of Concrete’s electricity consumption is powered by sustainable and renewable energy sources, saving approximately 204 tonnes of CO2e.
